Good writing isn’t magic. It’s mechanics.

Hi, I’m Marissa. I work with writers who want to tell true stories that actually connect with readers. Whether you’re trying to shape an idea or strengthen a draft, I’ll help you understand what the story needs—and how to get it there.

What I help with

I help memoirists, essayists, and authors of story-driven nonfiction move their work forward at every stage—from an early idea or scattered notes to a polished piece or published manuscript.

Sometimes the problem is conceptual: the piece is not yet clear about what it is really about. Sometimes it is structural: the narrative arc is weak, the pacing drags, the beginning comes too early, or the draft lacks momentum. Other times, the voice needs sharpening, material needs cutting, or the whole thing feels flat, scattered, or unfinished.

I bring this lens as both an author and a story coach. I’ve published two #1 Amazon bestselling books, ghostwritten and edited work for internationally recognized experts and bestselling authors, and helped mentor hundreds of first-time authors through the process of shaping and publishing their work.

The point is not to give you vague encouragement and send you back to the page confused. The point is to help you see the problem clearly—and know what to do next.
